We represent a  video report on esophageal stents placement to your attention.  

Stenting was performed by the esophageal stent Endo-Flex GmbH (Germany).

Treating physician - doctor Rinchinov Vyacheslav Bazarzhapovich. 

Patient history:

The patient considers himself to be sick since August 2015, when he started to feel uncomfortable upon swallowing and rough food obstruction. In December 2015, he attended central district hospital and was referred to the oncological disensary for further examination.  The examination detected esophageal tumor . Biopsy was taken. Biopsy No. 31 dd. 12.01.2016: Epidermoid cancer without cornification. The patient was hospitalized to the oncological clinical dispensary for  the operative treatment. On 03.02.2016, laparotomy and  Boeck-Jianu’s gastrotomy was performed. The case was recognized as unresectable. Post-surgery period was smooth. In the postoperative period, the patient was not satisfied with the life quality, in particular with the nutrition via PEG tube. After appointment with the surgeon-endoscopist, under patient’s request, endoscopic placement of esophageal stent was recommended in the conditions of in-patient care in the endoscopic unit of the RCH named after N.A. Semashko.  PEG tube was closed after stent placement.

On 17.02.2016, endoscopic placement of esophageal stent was performed.

Peculiarity of such placement is the possibility of correct positioning by means of stent tightening.
